Both Hounds teams fail to trouble the scoresheet by Dunc, 17th Oct 2009
Nothing much to report this week. No-one scored. Which means neither team won. But the Reserves played out a rare Downs League achievement – the nil-nil draw…
AFC Bohemia 2 – 0 Hounds
Matt M picked up MOTM, but picked up a knock to the ankle before the end of the game, leaving us with 10 men. For a change – I mean that has rarely happened this season!
Ali firmly put his hand up for the Hounds Miss* of the Season Award – missing an opportunity to score from 7cm. I don’t think anyone will beat that this season…
Some photos of the game here – including a classic shot of Fordy using his new-found telekinetic powers to freeze the ball in mid-air!
* ‘Miss’ as in “to miss the opportunity to score an easy goal”, not ‘Miss’ as in “a girly”.
Clifton Rockets Reserves 0 – 0 Hounds Reserves
We did kind of score today – Henry nodded in from close range following a free kick – but he was deemed to be offside. We had a few harder chances, as did Rockets, but both defences were solid. Dunc picked up MOTM, narrowly beating Jimmy… We also finished with 10 men – Adam C coming on as sub, getting hurt, going off, but hobbling back on again for the last couple of minutes!
It’s a shame we couldn’t use the score given to us by the Evening Post…
In Division III… Steve Elford netted a consolation goal for Clifton Rockets Reserves, who were thrashed 8-1 by Sporting Greyhound Reserves.
